J&K reports 6 new covid-19 cases, no death

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported 796 fresh covid-19 cases even as there was no death due to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Saturday.

They said that 136 cases were reported from Jammu division and 660 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 469041. Among the cases, 172419 are from Jammu division and 296622 from Kashmir Valley.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 52 cases, Udhampur 12, Rajouri 11, Doda 23, Kathua 5, Samba 5, Kishtwar 10, Poonch 2, Ramban 16, Reasi 1, Srinagar 219, Baramulla 194, Budgam 81, Pulwama 7, Kupwara 66, Anantnag 41, Bandipora 16, Ganderbal 4, Kulgam 29 and Shopian 3.

There no death, either from Jammu or Kashmir Valley during the time. So far 4776 people succumbed to the virus and among them include 2346 from Jammu division and 2430 from the Valley.

Besides, they said, 668 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—205 from Jammu division and 463 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 5261 active cases— 1357 in Jammu and 3904 in Kashmir.

The officials told GNS there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 7966 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K. (GNS)
