Srinagar: A day after the air and surface traffic remain affected, the authorities on Saturday morning said that the flight operations have resumed again while the traffic on Srinagar -Jammu highway was also allowed to ply after the roads were cleared.

The Srinagar-Jammu highway was thrown open for the vehicular movement this morning while the officials said that the traffic on both sides has been cleared.

Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the highway was thrown open for the traffic this morning after the road was cleared.

The men and machinery were pressed into the service soon after the snowfall stopped, they said, adding that the road was cleared from the debris and snow.

They said that after clearance of the national highway, the LMVs passengers were released from both sides.

Meanwhile, after remaining suspended for a day, the flight operations also resumed at Srinagar International Airport officials said.

Director Srinagar Airport, Kuldeep Singh told KNO that the runway was cleared this morning following which the flight operations have resumed.

Pertinently, 66 flights including 33 departures and 33 arrivals were cancelled yesterday due to fresh snowfall and low visibility.

Moreover, the authorities here have informed that the train services will run normally tomorrow from Baramulla to Banihal section.

Earlier, the train services remained suspended on Friday after the train got detailed and the passengers had a narrow escape.
