Driver dies after being hit by iron rod near under-construction tunnel in Gbl

Ganderbal: A driver died after he was hit by an iron rod near an under construction tunnel at Sonamarg area of central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Tuesday.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the driver was hit by an iron rod while offloading iron from his truck near the under construction tunnel and fell unconscious.

He said soon after the incident, he was taken to sub-district hospital Kangan where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

A Police official identified the deceased as Balvinder Singh (48), son of Amrit, resident of Ludhiana.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and have started further investigation—(KNO)
