Ganderbal: The Municipal Council Ganderbalhas issued a notice to the shopkeepers in the town for the removal of illegal hoardings or signage installed without its approval.
According to an official order, a copy which lies with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), multiple hoardings have been installed by the shopkeepers which create a nuisance in the market and have given a very bad shape to town.
A few shopkeepers have fixed advertisement hoardings of different companies without the approval of Municipal Council Ganderbal, it said.
The municipal council said the president of markets (Tawheed Chowk, Duderhama and Beehama) has been multiple times called in the office chamber and it was decided that they will remove the old hoardings and install a uniform design of hoardings.
It further said that the discussions were not adhered to and violations with regard to the installation of “shabby” hoardings continued which has put a loss to the municipal council.
“Keeping in view the above facts, all the shopkeepers of the town are advised to remove all the illegal hoardings /boards within one day installed by them, otherwise the same will be removed by our Khilafwarzi and sanitation teams,” the MC Ganderbal warned.
A senior official of the Municipal Council Ganderbal told KNO that all shopkeepers in the market will have to remove their existing signboards and hoardings. “They will be provided with new boards in uniform design as the administration is currently working on the beautification of the town,” he said, adding, “All illegal banners, boards and hoardings will also be removed in Ganderbal town.”—(KNO)
