Dead body of Policeman abducted from Magam residence, found in nearby fields


Srinagar, 05 Oct: Dead body of a policeman, abducted from his home in Magam village of central Kashmir’s Budgam district, during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday, by unknown persons, was found tied with a tree in the fields of a nearby village in the morning.

Officials said that a police constable, identified as Mohammad Ashraf son of Abdul Majeed, a resident of Arichandrihama in Magam area of Budgam was abducted by unknown persons during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.

“His dead body was found tied with tree in the fields of nearby village Agrikalan, Magam on Thursday morning,” said the officials.

It is understood that he died of strangulation, after being tightly tied with the tree,” they added.

According to the officials Ashraf was posted at Parihaspora Pattan and had visited home on Wednesday evening, where he was abducted by suspected militants later during the night.

Meanwhile forces have launched a manhunt to nab the kidnappers and further details are awaited. (KDC)
