PDP Sources told KDC that Mehbooba Mufti had gone to express her condolences with the bereaved family of a party worker, who had passed away recently.

They said that after visiting the family, when she was coming out of the house, many people approached her with a complaint that illegal extraction of sand and boulders was going on by alleged mafia in Rambiar Nallah and asked her to have a personal look.

“However, when she started to proceed towards the Nallah on the insistence of people, she was stopped by the police to go ahead’, they said.

On this occasion there was a heated argument between the Mehbooba Mufti supporters and the police officials, who turned her back to Srinagar. (KDC)
