Says, Policemen killed, ignored advisory

Srinagar, Aug 22: Hours after three persons including a political worker and two policemen were killed in three different incidents State Police Chief has said that the slain political activist had been provided security.
Talking to us, DGP Dr. S. P Vaid said that the slain political activist chose to go home in South Kashmir without PSO which proved fatal for him. The DGP while expressing anguish over the killing of two policemen in South Kashmir said that both had ignored the advisory issued time and again asking policemen not to go home without seeking permission and unprotected. The DGP while terming the killing of the policemen unfortunate said that the policemen being killed unarmed without getting chance to resist was completely avoidable.
Eid Ul Adha was celebrated with religious fervor across the state on Wednesday. Muslims from all over the State offered Eid Namaz at various places before offering “quarabni “. The main congregational prayers of Eid was held at Eidgah Srinagar where Mirwaiz Umar Farooq gave the Eid Sermon .
Meanwhile in different incidents of violence, three persons including one political worker and two Policemen were killed in South Kashmir. Director General of Police Dr. S. P Vaid said that the political activist who was abducted and killed by militants had been provided personal security but he chose to visit his home in South Kashmir without SPO.
Regarding the two Policemen killed on Wednesday DGP said that time and again policemen have been asked not to visit homes in South Kashmir without seeking proper permission but unfortunately some policemen go without caring for their life. He said this is hurting that they lose their precious lives due to carelessness.
Meanwhile three stone pelting incidents took place at different places in valley following Eid prayers. DGP said that minor stone pelting incidents occurred at Eidgah Srinagar, Janglat Mandi Anantnag and Sopore. He said a handful of boys had hit the streets at these places and added that situation remained peacefully at rest of the places.
