Srinagar: A youth was killed in firing by government forces at Gusoo village amid a massive cordon-and-search-operation in several villages of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Saturday.
Reports reaching said that a youth Fayaz Ahmad Wani son of Ahsan Wani of Chewa Kalan received serious injuries after a bullet hit in his head during clashes in government forces action at Gusoo village.
The injured youth was immediately rushed to nearby hospital where from he was referred to SMHS Srinagar hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.
The clashes erupted at many areas including Muran, Chewa Kalan, Gusoo, Pulwama town.
10 more youths received bullet and pellet injuries in action by government forces and were hospitalized.
Among the injured, six were received at district hospital Pulwama, Medical Superintendent Dr Abdul Rashid Parra told GNS.
The clashes erupted in a number of places in the southern district after government forces launched massive anti-militancy operations in the number of villages in the district.
Reports reaching GNS said that army’s 44RR, 55RR, 53RR, 182BN, 183BN of CRPF and SOG Pulwama launched massive search operation early morning in at least 10 villages of Pulwama which include Rahmoo, Bellow, Kasipora, Zagigam, Chewa Kalan, Putrigam, Matrigam, Frasipura, Goosu, Kuchepura, Murran, Thokerpora and Drabgam.
